Choosing the type of stone depends on it’s intended use.

Since flagstone has a smooth surface, it is ideal for pathways, patios, sidewalks and any area that requires level ground. Decomposed granite provides an excellent base for flagstone. It doesn’t wash away in rain and when dry, is extremely hard. Thin flagstone is often used for veneer for fireplace and walls. Flagstone costs approx $200-$320* per ton.

Chopped block stone comes in numerous sizes and is suited well for flower bed borders, retaining walls and decorative building. Chopped block in a 4 by 4 size runs $200- $315* per ton.

Large mossy or granite boulders are popular for landscape accents. Boulders can be used with specimen trees at entrances, framing swimming pool or pond areas and backyard focal points. Boulders run about $180-$200.* per ton.

Mini Moss boulders are often used for building water features. Also look for unusual shapes and color to create points of interest in your flower beds. Mini Moss stone runs about $220* per ton.

Rock Hollow Stone carries these and many more building and landscaping stones.
